(October 21, 2011) Over the last several weeks, Empire State Future has been contacting the co-chairs at each of the ten state-convened Regional Economic Development Councils (REDC) to urge the councils to craft their economic development plans in concert with smart growth principles and practices. We have been aided in this effort by our friends and partners, several of whom serve on the REDC’s. News out of Albany shows that these efforts are having positive effects.
